Dear Conservative Christians,
Let's play, 'Guess Which Verse'.
Was it, "For God so loved the world," or was it, "For God so loved America"?
Did Jesus say, "Love thy neighbor as thyself," or did he say, "Love your neighbor, but only if he worships me, too."?
And when Jesus said, "The kingdom of God is within you," did he add, "but not them."?
Here's a better question. Jesus defeated Lucifer some 2,000 years ago, so why is your devil still roaming the streets? We're gonna need a bigger wall. Jesus died on the cross for our sins, so why are there so many of us sinners still out here? Whose sins did he die for? Yours or ours? Which is it, Pastor?
You've got the good book memorized, you should try living it out loud. Put your hands down from worshiping your idol on the cross and start living like Jesus did on the ground. You've been praising the murder weapon. Let it go.
Didn't Jesus write in the sand, "He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her," and did he add "except liberals, gays, and potheads."? C'mon Christians, I'm going to call you out on your hypocrisy. You got some 'splainin to do, as I'm sure you will.
And now that someone in Congress wears a hijab, the writing in the sand's been trampled and you want her silenced, too. She's a duly elected American congresswoman that you are condemning like a terrorist. Did you need another bible verse?
How about, "and after the fire a still, small voice."?
I know this still, small voice. I wake up each morning, keep my eyes closed and listen to it. I call it The Universe. I let it guide me throughout the day as best I can. Muslims also know that still, small voice, and so do the Jews. They call theirs Allah and Yahweh. Buddhists sit on their yoga mats listening to that still, small voice, too. Are you getting it? We've all experienced the peace that still, small voice can bring. If you would stop condemning and listen, you might feel it, too.
Last verse, I swear. "God is Love."
